- Evicted from National Park, many sold allotted tenements
A recent inspection of over 3,000 of the tenements allotted to those evicted from the Sanjay Gandhi National Park shows that original allottees occupy only 2,227. The others were illegally sold, leased out or turned into commercial premises, says an affidavit filed by SGNP Director Dr Pandurang Munde in the Bombay High Court.

The state government on Wednesday informed the Bombay High Court that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against six police officers, including a senior police inspector, an assistant police inspector and a police inspector for alleged dereliction of duty in an assault case involving a Scheduled Caste woman and her daughters . The court was also told that five of the accused had been transferred.
